INTERPRETING

We have a large network of professional interpreters who specialise in:

• Simultaneous interpreting: the interpreter translates without the speaker waiting for what they have said to be translated before continuing. This kind of interpreting tends to be performed in a booth in settings such as conferences when there is a large audience.
• Liaison interpreting: this is used when there are a small number of people in a meeting and the interpreter translates what each speaker says in either language.
• Consecutive interpreting: the person speaking waits for what he/she has said to be translated before continuing. This technique tends to be used for courses or presentations.
• Legal interpreting: giving evidence in court, making a statement to a notary public, a marriage ceremony, or any other legal procedure involving people who do not speak the local language. (See the section on Legal Translation)
